Job summary

HDR is seeking a Southwest Region Water Business Group Director to shape growth, lead a multidisciplinary leadership team, and expand HDR's water practice across the Southwest. You will drive strategy, cultivate market opportunities, and champion solutions that transform communities—leveraging HDR's employee-owned culture and industry leadership.

The role requires building high-performing teams, strategic client relationships, and active engagement with water organizations, with travel 50%+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 12 years' experience in related field.
• Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel 50%+ across the Southwest region.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture and related leadership.
• Strong business and operational leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a bold regional growth strategy aligned with HDR's Water Business Group vision and objectives.
• Identify emerging market opportunities and client needs to expand HDR's presence in the Southwest.
• Lead and inspire a high-performing regional leadership team.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and entrepreneurial thinking.
• Drive business development initiatives, strategic pursuits, and key client relationships.
• Mentor, develop, and empower Area Business Group Managers and emerging leaders.
• Identify and recruit top talent to strengthen HDR's leadership pipeline.
• Engage with water organizations, conferences, and professional associations.
