Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Southwest Mountain Structures Team Lead to guide design and delivery of major structural projects across multiple sites including Tempe, Tucson, and other locations. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, manage budgets, and drive strategic growth within the region.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, a structural/civil engineering license, and strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills to work with clients and stakeholders across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, structural/civil and infrastructure design.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Extensive advanced proficiency with building and infrastructure design.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive and strategic process and people leadership for the design, implementation, and administration of engineering discipline’s project and program involvement within the organization.
  • Lead the most complex and largest scale structural engineering projects, managing budgets, hours, expenses, and subcontractors.
  • Develop business opportunities and execute work for building and infrastructure projects in the geography.
  • Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings.
  • Drive long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Structural Engineering work for WSP in assigned area.
  • Ensure profitable performance and completion of projects within the area.
  • Drive compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
