Job summary

Gordon Highlander is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Operations to lead a growing Southeast portfolio of commercial construction projects from Atlanta, GA or Jacksonville, FL. This role requires overseeing multiple project teams, driving performance, and delivering exceptional client results across industrial facilities and distribution centers.

The position reports to Southeast regional leadership, emphasizing collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of multiple project teams in commercial general contracting.
• Experience with large-scale ground-up projects (distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Proven ability to build trusted client relationships at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across multiple commercial construction projects in the Southeast.
• Lead, mentor, and develop groups of Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Set expectations and accountability across project leadership teams.
• Oversee safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
• Maintain visibility of the regional portfolio and proactively mitigate risks.
• Partner with regional leadership to drive operational and financial performance.
• Ensure staffing and resources meet project delivery needs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, trade partners, architects, and engineers.
• Participate in pursuits, client interviews, and strategic planning.
• Support transitions with Preconstruction and Business Development; mentor operations team members.
