Job summary

Sonoco in the Southeast seeks an Account Representative to lead direct sales for folding carton customers across the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama. You will build account plans, manage multi-level relationships, and translate customer needs into actionable packaging solutions.

This role requires travel about 3 nights per week and disciplined use of CRM and forecasting tools to drive growth and margin. A 4-year degree and 3+ years in folding carton or corrugated packaging are preferred.

Qualifications

• A 4-year college degree.
• 3+ years in folding carton manufacturing, corrugated packaging.
• Proven success in sales prospecting, new business development, and territory growth.
• Proven ability to manage complex sales development cycles and multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Familiarity with folding carton design, converting processes, food service/CPG packaging requirements, and paperboard substrates.
• Strong discipline with CRM tools, sales reporting systems, and data analysis to support accurate forecasting and strategic planning.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience in corrugated or folding carton manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct sales in the Southeast folding carton markets.
• Build/account plans and expand multi-level customer relationships.
• Travel regionally (~3 nights/week) and maintain in-person presence.
• Use CRM for forecasting, funnel analysis, and territory reporting.
• Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, and Marketing.
