Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking a Substitute Teacher in Newark, NJ to support classrooms and maintain a positive learning environment. You will supervise students, follow lesson plans, and communicate with school staff as needed.

The role is hourly, non-exempt, and involves working on short- and long-term assignments with a dedicated Scoot Education consultant guiding placement.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or college credits.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State and federal background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom routines and transitions following lesson plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:
