Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking a substitute teacher to support classrooms across New Jersey and New York areas. You will supervise students, maintain a safe learning environment, and follow teacher lesson plans daily.

The role emphasizes flexibility, at least a Bachelor's degree or college credits, and the potential for ongoing placements through Scoot Education with dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required or college credits.
• Teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit preferred.
• Three professional references including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions per teacher's lesson plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff and leave feedback for returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.
