Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to support students across partner schools in New Jersey. You will supervise and assist in classrooms, playgrounds, or cafeterias, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment while following teacher plans.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and a growth mindset. Bilingual or credentialed candidates are encouraged to apply; Scoot offers scheduling flexibility and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment; encourage student engagement.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff; leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits

Youll Stand Out If You:

• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience
