The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities related to food preparation and cooking.
Where You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and manage food costs according to budget.
- Implement programs to reduce and control loss time injuries.
- Manage and schedule staffing levels to maintain budgeted employment and coverage, ensuring a positive gaming experience at Maryland Live Casino.
- Develop staff through training, interviewing, disciplinary counseling, and performance evaluations.
- Cook, carve meat, control portions, and prepare new dishes, sauces, and garnishes.
- Review kitchen activities, processes, and promotional ideas with the Executive Chef.
- Monitor and adjust performance relative to local competition.
- Meet with departmental directors and managers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
A Few Must Haves
- Five to seven years of experience in restaurant management and supervision.
- A 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Compliance with all state gaming regulations, including obtaining necessary licenses and health certificates.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work long hours.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work in variable temperatures.
