Aba Austin is a Mediterranean restaurant by Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. We are hiring a Sous Chef with 2 years of sous chef experience to lead BOH shifts, supervise kitchen staff, and oversee food prep and inventory. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of sous chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Ability to lead and manage the kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Run BOH shifts, oversee food prep and cooking, manage inventory and supervise all BOH staff.
• Lead BOH pre-shift meetings, line checks and tastings.
• Partner with GM to review and maintain recipe books.
• Perform regular line checks to ensure item quality.
• Purchase and order food and supplies daily.
• Assist with food cost control.
• Facilitate FOH-BOH communication.
• Assist with BOH hiring and development.
• Promote teamwork across all teams.
• Handle guest/vendor/employee challenges with tact.
• Work diverse shifts across sites; may travel.
