Job summary

Ēma Glenview is hiring a Sous Chef to lead BOH operations, oversee food prep and inventory, and ensure smooth line execution. This role focuses on strong leadership and collaboration with the GM and chefs to maintain quality and consistency across the menu.

The position requires 2–3 years of sous chef experience in a full-service restaurant and the ability to guide and develop kitchen staff. Shifts may include mornings, nights, and weekends at multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of sous chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Ability to lead and manage the kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Run BOH shifts and oversee food prep, cooking, and inventory.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and line checks.
• Maintain recipe books with GM/chefs.
• Perform regular food quality and timing checks.
• Purchase and order food products and supplies.
• Monitor food cost and communicate needs between FOH and BOH.
• Hire, onboard, train and develop BOH staff.
• Promote teamwork across all kitchen teams.
• Handle guest, vendor and staff issues with tact.
• Work varied shifts across multiple sites as needed.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds.
