Job summary

Urban Plates is seeking a Restaurant Sous Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager in California to support the Chef/Executive Kitchen Manager in guiding culinary operations and ensuring guest meals meet high standards. This role drives kitchen execution and contributes to profitable sales growth through strong leadership.

You will work with state-of-the-art equipment and participate in a comprehensive training program, with bonus opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients.
• Experience controlling Cost of Goods and inventory management.
• Hands-on leadership of BOH team including prep and line cooks.
• Experience with state-of-the-art kitchens and top-of-the-line equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef/Executive Kitchen Manager (EKM) in managing all culinary operations.
• Ensure the quality of food delivered to guests and maintain kitchen execution.
• Lead, direct, and support BOH team to optimize workflow and productivity.
• Drive profitable sales growth through efficient kitchen operations.
