Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio is seeking a Sous Chef to support the student dining operation. You will supervise, prepare, and cook a variety of items and help develop daily menu items and garnishes.

You may supervise hourly associates and collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop menus and assist with ordering. With Chartwells' growth trajectory, there is strong potential to advance professionally and make an immediate impact in our culinary

Qualifications

A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary/kitchen management.
Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations.
Experience in institutional and batch cooking helpful.
Strong knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and cost controls.
Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef and culinary team with cost controls and managing expenditures.
Assist in planning and creating menus.
Produce and execute catering events.
Roll out new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams.
Foster strong client relationships to align programs with objectives and retention.
Perform other duties to support dining service operations.
