Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at Concordia University in Seward, NE is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef. Hours are 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, requiring 3–5 years of high-volume cooking experience. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling and training.
• Stores food following all safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and workstation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
