Job Title: SOUS CHEF

FISD is hiring immediately for full-time SOUS CHEF positions at Mercersburg Academy, located at 100 Academy Drive, Mercersburg, PA 17236. Online applications are accepted only.

Job Summary

The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, supervises kitchen staff, and manages food service operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare food following recipes and standards, ensuring timely delivery.
  2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  3. Store food safely, following all sanitation procedures.
  4. Maintain proper food handling, presentation, and temperature control.
  5. Ensure cleanliness of equipment and workstations.
  6. Interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally.
  7. Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
  8. Monitor inventory and supplies, report shortages.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
