Job summary

Compass Group is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at the P&G Cape Girardeau Plant in Jackson, MO. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a competitive pay range of $18 to $25 per hour. Requires at least two years of culinary experience in a restaurant. Internal employee referral bonus available.

As a Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef, coordinate cooks and food-service staff, and ensure production deadlines and food safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Two years of restaurant culinary experience.
• Willingness to work full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviews and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and keeps workstation clean.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; informs supervisor when supplies or product are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
