Position Details

Title: Sous Chef

Reports To: Executive Chef

Salary: $60,000 to $65,000

Job Summary

As a Sous Chef I, you will assist in the overall success of the food program and oversee culinary functions, including planning, ordering, inventory, and food prep, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will also lead, train, and motivate back-of-house staff to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in food preparation and cooking.
  2. Contribute to menu planning and creation.
  3. Implement new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary teams.
  4. Manage cost controls and expenditures.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of culinary experience, including 1 year in management.
  • Experience across various food service settings.
  • Knowledge of food industry trends, sanitation, safety, and presentation.
  • Ability to manage production sheets and supervise staff.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
