Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $83,000.00/yr

Pine Hollow Club is a premier private country club on Long Island, known for its exceptional hospitality, vibrant culinary programming, and commitment to excellence. We are seeking a talented, hands-on Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and support the execution of high-quality à la carte dining, special events, and seasonal menus.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, lead BOH staff, maintain high standards of food quality and safety, and contribute to an engaging, team-oriented kitchen culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of seasonal menus and club events
  • Oversee kitchen staff during service, ensuring consistency and excellence
  • Train, coach, and mentor cooks, promoting skill development and teamwork
  • Support ordering, inventory control, and cost management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen in accordance with DOH and club standards
  • Step in as acting chef when needed in the absence of the Executive Chef

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale dining environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team
  • Excellent cooking skills across a variety of techniques and cuisines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable dining experiences
