Job Summary

Point Seven, a fine dining Seafood restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a hardworking Sous Chef to co-manage kitchen operations and ensure outstanding dining experiences. Join a versatile team, participate in crafting an elegant and seasonal menu, and progress professionally in a fast-paced, creative atmosphere.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist the Executive Chef with handling cost controls and controlling expenditures for the restaurant

+ Assist the Executive Chef with planning and crafting menus

+ Produce and complete catering events

+ Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

+ Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth execution of service and high culinary standards.

+ Supervise prep and production, maintaining consistency, quality, and timeliness across all stations.

+ Enforce safety and sanitation protocols in accordance with DOH standards and company policies.

+ Support the Executive Chef with inventory, ordering, and staff training to maintain an efficient and collaborative kitchen environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ A.S. or equivalent experience

+ Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training

+ Catering experience is a plus

+ Experience in fine dining restaurant operations

+ Extensive knowledge of food and culinary trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

+ Must be experienced with computers; including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet

+ Willingness to participate in client happiness programs/activities

+ ServSafe certified - highly desirable
