Job summary

Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska is seeking a seasoned Sous Chef to lead and mentor a dynamic culinary team while overseeing daily kitchen operations and menu development. You’ll train staff, delegate production, and strive to meet food cost goals in a fast-paced mountain resort, with opportunities across nine dining concepts from Seven Glaciers to Banquets and seasonal events.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and relevant culinary training.
• Five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Culinary apprenticeship or formal training preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.

We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Girdwood, Alaska.

What You’ll Do

• Observes workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed.
• Gives instructions to cooking personnel in fine points of cooking.
• Anticipates and writes daily production work and delegates accordingly.
• Develops menus and recipes as needed relevant to the season.
• Strives to meet and exceed food cost and labor goals.

What We Need

• High school degree or equivalent;

• Be on your feet for long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
