Job summary

The Ohio Adjutant General’s Department is seeking a Sourcing Supervisor to lead strategic sourcing and contracting activities in Columbus, OH. You will supervise a team of budgeting, sourcing, and procurement professionals to deliver efficient, compliant acquisitions.

The role partners with agency leaders, vendors, and internal customers to understand needs, develop sourcing solutions, and evaluate proposals, driving value and compliance across all procurements.

Qualifications

  • Have at least 4 ½ years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing to include exp. in performing spend analysis, developing sourcing strategy & evaluating vendor performance.
  • Completion of undergraduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field with at least 2 ½ years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
  • Completion of graduate core in public or business administration, purchasing, materials management, contracting, acquisition management or logistics, supply chain management, operations management or other sourcing related field with at least 1 ½ years’ experience in purchasing/procurement/sourcing.
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Sourcing Analyst with the State of Ohio.
  • Have at least 1 year experience as Sourcing Planner with the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agency strategic sourcing, purchasing, and contracting activities.
  • Manage solicitations, bids, proposals, evaluations, contract awards, and related procurement processes.
  • Partner with internal customers to understand business needs and develop appropriate sourcing solutions.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate assigned staff.

  • Build productive relationships with vendors, state agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, supply sources, and opportunities to improve procurement practices.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this classification include one of the following:

  • The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Salary Information

This position is assigned as a pay range 14 of the State of Ohio’s pay schedule, with a starting hourly rate of $40.40 and current range up to $57.67 per hour. Starting pay is usually at the minimum of the range unless otherwise required by law or union contract, or unless the selected candidate's qualifications warrant consideration above the minimum.

With continued employment and satisfactory performance, employees generally advance to the next pay step after six (6) months and then annually thereafter. Cost-of-living adjustments are typically applied on July 1.
