The position demands 5+ years in sourcing/procurement, strong contract negotiation skills, and solid MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sourcing, procurement experience or equivalent
• Experience in contract interpretation, drafting and negotiation.
• Financial analysis of pricing proposals.
• Ability to gather business requirements and recommend a sourcing strategy.
• Skill in reviewing proposed contract language and remediation strategies.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships of high risk or complexity with significant impact
• Manage suppliers and relationships from a life-cycle perspective focusing on cost reductions and satisfaction
• Establish e-business, procure-to-pay, environmental and Strategic Sourcing cost reduction strategies
• Customize legal contract language to anticipate technology, market and business issues
• Control all aspects of negotiation and set negotiation strategy
• Support acquisitions including negotiation reassignment on high-risk contracts
• Lead projects to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and educate contract analysts
• Educate contract analysts and business partners on risk issues and vendor disputes
• Provide direction to less experienced staff
• Partner with business units to issue and evaluate RFPs and ensure successful implementation
• Partner with business units to ensure standard contracts include corporate requirements
• Establish rapport with executives, vendors and third-party lessors to optimize negotiations
• Act as focal point for coordinating sourcing efforts across business entities

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Sourcing, Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• Strong experience in contract interpretation, drafting, and negotiation.
• Financial analysis of pricing proposals.
• Ability to gather business requirements and recommend a sourcing strategy.
• Skill in reviewing proposed contract language, identifying risks, and recommending language or strategies to remediate those risks.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).

Nice to Have

• Experience with contracts for software licenses (on‑premise and vendor‑hosted).
• Experience with contracts for AI (Artificial Intelligence).
• Experience negotiating pricing for software license renewals.
• Experience negotiating agreements on behalf of a highly regulated entity (financial services, healthcare).
• JD and/or sourcing certification.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships of high risk or complexity with significant impact to the business strategy
• Manage suppliers and relationships from a life‑cycle perspective with a focus on reducing cost or spend, increasing customer satisfaction, and maximizing business impact
• Establish e‑business, procure‑to‑pay, environmental, and Strategic Sourcing cost reduction strategies to continually improve category effectiveness and efficiencies
• Customize legal contract language to proactively anticipate technology, market and business issues
• Control all aspects of negotiation and set negotiation strategy
• Support acquisitions including negotiation reassignment on high‑risk contracts
• Participate in the review of closing agreements
• Lead projects required to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, as well as educate and act as a resource for Contract Analysts with regard to such issues
• Educate Contract Analysts and business partners on risk issues and handle vendor disputes
• Provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff
• Partner with business units to issue and evaluate Request For Proposals and to ensure successful implementation of agreements
• Partner with business units to ensure standard contracts include corporate requirements
• Establish and maintain a good rapport with executive management, vendors, and third‑party lessors or manufacturers to optimize negotiation, savings and service improvements and problem resolution
• Act as a focal point for coordinating sourcing efforts across business entities
