Job summary

Phyton Talent Advisors is seeking a Contract Specialist to support the Procurement Department with contract negotiations, drafting, administration, and sourcing-related activities in a fast-paced corporate environment.

The role collaborates with Senior Sourcing Managers to ensure timely and accurate execution of procurement initiatives. Ideal candidates bring strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of contract negotiation, management, or commercial contracts.
  • 3+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain in a corporate environment.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience supporting sourcing and vendor management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and legal teams to resolve contractual issues and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract versions, approvals, negotiations, and execution status.
  • Support contract lifecycle management from initial drafting through execution and ongoing administration.
  • Support sourcing activities, including vendor selection, RFP/RFI processes, and bid evaluations.
  • Assist with purchase initiatives and coordinate procurement requests.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for procurement decisions.
  • Track supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Support Source-to-Pay processes and procurement-related workflows.
  • Prioritize and coordinate incoming business requests and purchasing initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, legal teams, and suppliers.
  • Communicate with senior executives and business units regarding procurement and contractual matters.
  • Provide administrative and communication support throughout the procurement process.
  • Generate and analyze procurement reports to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential compliance gaps.
  • Maintain dashboards and trackers related to contracts, sourcing activities, and procurement initiatives.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to procurement and contractual activities.

Job description

The Contract Specialist will support the Procurement Department by managing contract negotiations, drafting, administration, and sourcing-related activities. This position works closely with Senior Sourcing Managers and Procurement team members to ensure the timely and accurate execution of procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial contract negotiation experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Negotiation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and legal teams to resolve contractual issues and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract versions, approvals, negotiations, and execution status.

Procurement & Sourcing Support
  • Support sourcing activities, including vendor selection, RFP/RFI processes, and bid evaluations.
  • Assist with purchase initiatives and coordinate procurement requests.

  • Track supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in contract negotiation, contract management, or commercial contracts.
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a corporate environment.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience supporting sourcing and vendor management activities.
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts and basic contract law principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional business writing and legal terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with legal teams, senior executives, business stakeholders, and external suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, and OneNote.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro and electronic signature platforms such as DocuSign.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP or corporate financial management systems such as PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
  • Experience with Source-to-Pay systems and processes.
  • Experience with GEP or similar procurement platforms.
