Ascension Health seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in the Ultrasound department at Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital in Fishers, IN. This PRN role involves rotating shifts with call rotation.

Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, performing exams, ensuring image quality, safety, and documentation accuracy for PACS, while maintaining a clean and compliant department.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire or transfer date.
• Credentialing in Cardiographic Tech, ARRT Sonography or ARDMS within 24 months.
• ARRT Radiologic Tech specialization in Sonography acceptable within 24 months.
• ARDMS Sonography credential within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment and maneuver transducers.
• Perform exams and maintain image quality for PACS submission.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and department cleanliness.
• Report equipment issues and lock/tag out when needed.
• Maintain regulatory compliance.

Your future role at a glance

• Location: Fishers, IN

• Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Fishers Hospital

• Department/Specialty: Ultrasound

• Schedule: PRN | Rotating | Call Rotation included

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.

• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.

• Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.

• Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.

• Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.

• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following:

• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
