Job summary

Ascension Ultrasound Department in Evansville, IN is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and complex diagnostic ultrasound exams. You will document data in PACS and collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate, timely diagnoses.

Responsibilities include equipment QC and safety checks, maintaining patient comfort, and adapting techniques to achieve optimal imaging while supporting patient well-being. Evening hours and potential call coverage are included.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or transfer date.
• One of the following credentials within 24 months: Cardiographic Tech (CCI), ARRT Radiologic Technologist (Sonography), or ARDMS Medical Sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images for routine and complex studies to support accurate diagnoses.
• Capture and document clinical data in PACS to safeguard patient history and care continuity.
• Perform regular quality control and safety checks on imaging equipment to ensure peak performance and patient safety.
• Identify anatomical structures and pathologies, adapt technique as needed to maintain patient comfort and imaging accuracy.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images by performing both routine and complex studies to help physicians make accurate, timely patient diagnoses.
• Capture and document clear clinical data within PACS, ensuring meticulous records that safeguard patient history and streamline the continuity of care.
• Manage and optimize imaging equipment through regular quality control and safety checks to guarantee peak performance and patient safety during every procedure.
• Advocate for patient well-being by recognizing significant anatomical structures, pathologies, or technical limitations, and adapting your approach to ensure comfort and accuracy.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.

Additional Preferences

• From an accredited program preferably with Abdomen, OB and RVT credentials or experience.
• Able to work independently.
