Job summary

Ascension in Wichita, KS seeks a Radiologic Technologist specialized in echocardiography to capture high-quality cardiac images and data. The role includes rotating PRN shifts across Via Christi St.

Francis and related imaging sites, upholding safety and patient comfort while delivering accurate studies. The ideal candidate will hold active BLS and ARDMS/CCI credentials (or obtain within 12 months), with relevant education and experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire date.
• ARDMS/CCI credentialing within 12 months of hire date.
• ARRT Radiologic or Cardiac Sonography credentials within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Capture high quality cardiac images and hemodynamic data for physician review.
• Navigate complex diagnostic studies with advanced imaging technology to ensure accurate scans.
• Position patients to ensure safety and comfort while maintaining quality control.
• Translate findings to clinical value; ensure data sent to PACS is complete and review-ready.
• Maintain efficient imaging spaces and equipment for optimal next-patient readiness.

• Capture high quality cardiac images and hemodynamic data to provide physicians with the critical insights needed for life-saving diagnoses.
• Navigate complex diagnostic studies by expertly maneuvering advanced imaging technology, ensuring every scan meets the highest clinical standards for accuracy.
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort by precisely positioning patients and maintaining rigorous quality control protocols throughout the imaging process.
• Translate technical findings into clinical value by identifying pathology and ensuring all data sent to PACS is comprehensive, accurate, and ready for immediate review.
• Maintain an efficient and high-standard care environment by managing advanced imaging equipment and procedural spaces, ensuring the department is always safe and optimized for the next patient.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Hold an active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) credential, or successfully obtain the credential within 12 months of start date or transfer date.
