Job summary

Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking a Radiology Sonographer to join the Maternal Fetal Medicine team. You will perform routine and complex fetal imaging, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure accurate documentation in PACS.

Day shift, full-time status with solid safety standards and quality control, including lead marker accuracy and patient history. The role requires BLS and ARRT/ARDMS/CCI certifications or eligibility, plus high school diploma or higher.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• One or more of: Cardiographic Tech (CCI) within 12 months; ARRT Sonography; ARDMS within 12 months.

• Performs routine and complex imaging procedures, maneuvering transducers and recognizing significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
• Sets up, adjusts, and ensures proper functioning of equipment, reporting malfunctions and locking or tagging out equipment when necessary.
• Implements safety standards, conducts quality control procedures, and maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Submits high-quality images and accurate documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring correct lead markers and patient history.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure, dressing, and storage areas.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):




• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• One or more of the following:




• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.


• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.


• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
