Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiology imaging professional in Indianapolis to operate, adjust, and maintain imaging equipment for diagnostic exams. The role includes performing routine and complex imaging studies, accurately positioning patients, and assisting with imaging procedures to ensure high-quality results.

The position requires BLS within 30 days and specific radiologic/cardiac credentials within 12 months, with potential for professional growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Credentials within 12 months: CCI Cardiographic Tech, ARRT Radiologic Tech (Cardiac Imaging), ARRT Radiologic Technologist, ARDMS Cardiac Sonographer, CCI Cardiac Sonographer, ARDMS Sonographer, or CCI Sonography Tech in Cardiac.

Responsibilities

• Operate, adjust, and maintain imaging equipment for diagnostic examinations.
• Perform routine and complex imaging studies and assist with various imaging procedures.
• Identify anatomy, artifacts, and pathology to ensure image quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety and quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
• Submit high-quality images and patient data to PACS with correct identifiers.

Schedule: Full-time | Days | Monday-Friday 6a-4:30p 10 hour shifts with rotating day off. Call Rotation required.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Operate, adjust, and maintain imaging equipment while accurately positioning patients and selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters for diagnostic examinations.
• Perform routine and complex imaging studies, manually maneuver transducers as required, and assist with a variety of imaging procedures.
• Recognize relevant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations to ensure accurate image acquisition and diagnostic quality.
• Implement safety and quality control standards while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and departmental requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including accurate patient information and lead markers, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly imaging environment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous Echo experience preferred.
