Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Cedar Rapids seeks a diagnostic ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound exams, report findings to radiologists, and provide compassionate patient care within the Women's Center.

Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, ensuring accurate patient identification and workflow, and maintaining PACS images; ARDMS breast certification and BLS are required or within 18 months, with one year of ultrasound experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound educational program.
• ARDMS certification within 18 months of employment.
• Breast MRI and breast certification via ARDMS preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training completed before start.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate information with patients, families and co-workers at hand offs and when needed.
• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality sonograms.
• Prepare images on the PACS prior to radiologist interpretation.
• Supervise students per Mercy/University policies for Radiologic Technology.
• Maintain department cleanliness and ensure ancillary equipment is functioning correctly.
