Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a Part-time ultrasound technologist to perform vascular and general sonography procedures, preparing patients and equipment and assisting radiologists with interpretation. The role involves patient education, performing doppler studies, and maintaining strict safety and infection control standards.

Eligible candidates are ARDMS registered (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible with ARDMS registration pursued within 1 year; BLS within 30 days; CME compliance

Qualifications

• Must be ARDMS registered with one of the following: RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RMSKS; or board-eligible and pursue ARDMS registration within one year of hire.
• Active ARDMS registry with CME credits (30 CME's every 3 years)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire and renewed every 2 years
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within six months of hire and every three years thereafter

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient, room and equipment for ultrasonography procedure.
• Performs ultrasound procedures including vascular and general sonography as ordered.
• Provides patient education and communicates findings to radiologist.
• Operates ultrasound equipment, including doppler/color flow studies, and documents findings.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and employee health policies.
