Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to conduct ultrasound examinations with strict adherence to infection control, safety, and QA standards. The role includes patient history review, image optimization, and preliminary reporting under physician supervision.

You will support medical records, operate PACS/EMR, and assist with education of students and residents. ARDMS/ARRT certification or eligibility is required with ongoing credentialing expectations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 1–3 years of experience preferred; new graduates considered.
• ARDMS or ARRT sonography registered or registry eligible; must register within 12 months of hire; secondary specialty registration within 2 years as approved.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment for sonography exams.
• Review patient history, prep, contraindications, and limitations.
• Assist with medical record and image sharing as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and ergonomic scanning techniques.
• Use PACS and EMR to document findings and manage images.
• Provide student and resident education and supervision of allied staff.
• Report ultrasound safety incidents per protocol.
