Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Mason City, IA is seeking a Sonographer to join our radiology team. You will perform ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, and other related procedures on scheduled or emergent basis and assist radiologists as needed.

Qualified applicants must hold ARDMS certification (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or be board-eligible, maintain active registry status with ARDMS with CME requirements, complete BLS within 30 days, and be willing to work a weekend 2x12-hour shift

Qualifications

• Must hold ARDMS certification with one of RDMS, RDCS, RVT or RMSKS, or be board-eligible and obtain within one year of hire.
• Maintain active ARDMS registry status (30 CME’s every 3 years and annual payment).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years.

As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will:

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff

Schedule:

• Weekends
• Work 2 12-hour shifts (24 hours) and get paid 36.

General Requirements:

Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.

• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
