Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa is seeking a Sonographer for a full-time, day-shift role in Mason City, IA. The position involves performing ultrasound examinations (OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts) and supporting radiologists with interpretations and teaching.

Requires ARDMS certification (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible with ARDMS registration within 12 months; BLS within 30 days of hire and ongoing CME commitments. Includes a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with ARDMS (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible and apply within 1 year.
• Active ARDMS registry with CME requirements (30 CME’s every 3 years).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts and other related procedures on scheduled or emergent basis.
• Assist radiologist in interpreting studies and provide technical instruction to students and staff.

As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will:

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff

Schedule:

• 40 hours a week
• Day shift

General Requirements:

Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.

• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
