Job summary

MercyOne Health System is hiring a Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams across OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, and other areas, while maintaining accurate records. The role includes assisting radiologists and mentoring students and staff in ultrasound techniques.

Applicants should be ARDMS certified (or board-eligible with ARDMS within a year) and commit to ongoing credential maintenance, including CME requirements and BLS readiness.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with ARDMS (RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RMSKS) or board-eligible with ARDMS within one year.

We conduct a Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Cardiology Fellowship, Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and a School of Radiologic Technology. MercyOne North Iowa is a clinical training site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges enrolled in programs for medical laboratory, nursing, paramedic, rehabilitation, medical assistants, pastoral services, physicians and many other medical fields.Join the MercyOne Family! As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will:

• Perform Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records
• Provide general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff

Schedule:

• 32 hours a week
• Rotating days every other week. 2 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift per week. 12-hour shifts are 8a-8:30p. 8-hour shift is 8a-4:30p
• Holiday rotation

General Requirements:

Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)

If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.

• Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
