Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI.
• BLS Certification from AHA.
• Minimum 200 inpatient echocardiography cases documented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for ultrasound and explain procedures.
• Set up equipment for procedures in a timely fashion.
• Review prior reports and patient charts.
• Ensure complete imaging and notify reader.
• Maintain records and logs of exams.
• Manage inventory and supplies for the area.
• Perform other related duties.

Job description

Duties:

• Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms performs ultrasound procedures, relieve patients of pre-testing anxiety and directly observes the and monitors the patient during the entire process.
• Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
• Carefully reviews prior reports and images, and patient chart.
• Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and through, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified.
• Maintains records and logs exams performed.
• Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Techs MUST HAVE TAVR TTE experience scanning pre TAVr treatment patients with crticial Aortic stenosis - this must be reflected on their resume as well. The department only needs high end techs with a lot od experince or have worked for a valve center/structural heart facility.

Skills:

• Experienced Sonographer to perform high quality Adult Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premiere cardiac center.
• Dedicated inpatient echo work experience is a must.
• Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
• Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities and quickly respond to critical findings.
• Techs MUST HAVE TAVR TTE experience scanning pre TAVr treatment patients with crticial Aortic stenosis - this must be reflected on their resume as well.
• The department only needs high end techs with a lot od experince or have worked for a valve center/structural heart facility.
• All candidates that do not meet these requirements will be rejected.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
