Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams as ordered by physicians.
• Perform Echocardiograms with Definity contrast.
• Perform Echo and vascular studies: TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous/arterial Dopplers, carotid Doppler, ABI, venous mapping.
• Assist physicians and maintain department efficiency; ensure exams are completed timely.

Must-Have: Must be able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.

Must be able to perform Echo and Vascular studies, including TTE Echocardiograms, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams.Able to start own IV required.MediTech Experience required.Description:The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department efficiently according to the physician's order.The Sonographer works effectively with patients and physicians and maintains cooperative relationships with interdepartmental personnel.Complete studies in a timely and efficient manner while utilizing downtime to assist others as needed.Ensure exam charges and the 5-day late list are checked daily for the ultrasound department.Organize workload during high volume to expedite patient care and communicate any pending exams and pertinent information to other technologists.Assist the physician in performing radiology procedures.Promote positive relationships within the department and discuss concerns with the supervisor while presenting the department positively to other employees and staff.Maintain supplies with a minimum inventory and develop new methods of supply utilization.Handle equipment safely and appropriately within guidelines and policies.Maintain a clean work area and follow equipment cleaning policies.Ensure exterior surfaces of the machines are wiped down after each workday and between patients as appropriate.Follow the on-call policy by responding promptly and arriving in the department within the specified time frame.Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed.Check with co-workers during downtime for opportunities to assist.Adhere to attendance and tardiness policies.Follow the dress code and appearance policy.Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings.Follow safety and infection control policies.Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
