Base pay range

Description

• Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms, performs ultrasound procedures, relieves patients of pre-testing anxiety, and directly observes and monitors the patient during the entire process.
• Sets up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
• Carefully reviews prior reports and images and patient chart.
• Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and thorough, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified.
• Maintains records and logs of exams performed.
• Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

Required Skills & Experience

• Experienced Sonographer to perform high quality Adult Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premiere cardiac center.
• Dedicated inpatient echo work experience is a must. Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
• Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities and quickly respond to critical findings.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• TEE and Stress Echo experience.
• Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
• TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure device protocols.
• Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
• Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems.
• Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.

Education

• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

• Preferred Education: Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
