Job description

Overview

The Advanced Sonographer performs general diagnostic ultrasound exams and related data collection for evaluation and treatment by the attending physician. Responsibilities include performing all cardiac ultrasound (echocardiograms) and routine vascular exams to evaluate potential vascular abnormalities or diseases. Exams are digitally acquired, and measurements are obtained according to specific modality protocols. The ultrasound tech ensures patient safety by adhering to procedure protocols and policies. The role may require taking calls as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in related health science or graduation from an accredited program preferred.
  • 1-5 years of related experience.
  • New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program DMS, VS.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Certification in two sections from the following:
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS in specialties such as Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Breast (BR), or Pediatric Sonography (PS).
    • Sonographer credential through ARRT (S).
  • Cardiac Sonography
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Adult, Pediatric, or Fetal Echocardiography through ARDMS, or RCS through Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • Vascular Sonography
    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Vascular Specialist (RVS), or Vascular Sonography (ARRT VS).
  • Additional Credentials:
  • Rad Tech-Radiography
  • NM Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist
  • Registered Vascular Technologist
  • Registered Vascular Specialist

Compensation

The maximum offer for this position is up to USD $51.41 per hour.
