Job summary

Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land Betriebsgesellschaft mbH is seeking a passionate host with strong guest service skills and wine knowledge. You will welcome guests, advise them, and contribute to a high standard of service in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.

The role involves creating the wine list, purchasing, inventory and staff training, supporting restaurant management and colleagues in the service team. German (B1) is required; hotel/ gastronomy background is essential.

Qualifications

• Completed training in the hotel industry and experience in upscale gastronomy.
• Recognised further training as a sommelier or extensive wine knowledge.
• Good command of German, at least B1 level.
• Strong service orientation and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and advise guests, delivering high-level guest service.
• Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction in daily operations.
• Participate in creating the wine list and wine purchases.
• Handle inventory, stock management and staff training; support restaurant management.

Job description

• You are a passionate host and enjoy working with people.
• You have completed training in the hotel industry and have experience in upscale gastronomy.
• You have successfully completed recognised further training as a sommelier or a comparable examination, or you already have extensive experience with in-depth wine knowledge.
• You have a good command of German, at least B1 level.
• You are communicative and enjoy providing good service.
• You can keep track of things even when the workload is high.
• You enjoy working in a young team and don't want to work in a 'stiff' hotel, but rather be part of a team in a classless hotel.
• You can plan ahead and make appropriate arrangements.
• You can keep track of things even in demanding situations and don't lose your cool.
• You understand the importance of cleanliness and order and can comply with HACCP guidelines.

In this responsible position, you will be responsible for welcoming and advising our guests, providing professional guest service of the highest standard and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. You will also be involved in creating the wine list, purchasing, inventory and staff training, and will support both the restaurant management and your colleagues in the service team.
