Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels seeks a passionate Sommelier to curate and elevate our wine programs across dining outlets and events. You’ll craft memorable pairings, educate guests, and drive beverage excellence in a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Previous sommelier or fine dining beverage experience.
• Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and pairings.
• CMS or WSET certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Curate and manage hotel wine programs across restaurants, bars, lounges, banquets, and events.
• Provide elevated guest service by recommending wine pairings and educating guests on selections.
• Partner with Culinary and F&B teams to develop wine pairings and seasonal offerings.
• Train restaurant and beverage teams on wine knowledge and service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of wines, regions, vintages, and beverage trends.
• Monitor wine inventory, ordering, storage, rotation, pricing, and cellar management.
• Support beverage sales growth through upselling, tastings, and events.
• Ensure proper wine presentation, opening, decanting, and serving procedures.
• Source wines through vendors and maintain strong beverage partnerships.
• Assist with banquets, private dining, weddings, and special events.
• Follow responsible alcohol service and sanitation guidelines.
• Help create an elevated, welcoming guest-focused atmosphere aligned with Sonesta's culture.
