Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group on board is seeking a skilled Sommelier to enhance the dining experience by recommending wines and up-selling beverages. You will provide wine service across restaurant, buffet, café, and specialty outlets, including breakfast and lunch shifts.

Daily wine cellar restocking and weekly loading duties are part of the role. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fine-dining beverage service (shipboard preferred), strong wine and food-pairing knowledge, and a guest-centric service

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of fine-dining restaurant and beverage-related experience; shipboard experience preferred.
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
• Ability to analyze and interpret documents such as recipes and manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, tips, proportions, percentages.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Provide wine service to guests in the restaurant, buffet, cafe, and specialty restaurants during breakfast and lunch.
• Restock the wine cellar daily and assist with loading wine to the ship once a week.
• Utilize up-selling techniques to promote beverage sales and enhance guest experience.

Job description

Sommeliers help enhance our guests’ dining experience by recommending the right wines for every meal. You must also be skilled in up-selling techniques to promote and improve beverage sales. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, restocking the wine cellar daily, as well as helping to load wine to the ship once a week. Additionally, Sommeliers provide wine service to guests in the restaurant, buffet restaurant and will be assigned to work in our café’s and specialty restaurants during breakfast and lunch, selling & serving wines, including all other beverages. If you have experience in a similar role （or an equivalent combination of experience and education）, exceptional wine and food-pairing knowledge, are service driven with a passion for the guest experience, join us on board and we will propose a toast to your success!

Hiring Requirements
