Location: SF/NYC Remote (Pacific/Eastern US Timezone or GMT/GMT+1)

About the Role

As a Solutions Engineer at Flox, you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering developers and engineering teams to succeed across their entire software development lifecycle—from first evaluation to long-term adoption. You’ll partner closely with prospects during the pre-sales process, delivering compelling technical demos and answering deep architectural questions, and you’ll remain a trusted advisor post-sale, helping teams integrate Flox into their workflows and scale their usage effectively. You’ll help shape how we communicate the value of Flox, creating reusable technical content, refining onboarding experiences, and influencing product feedback loops. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who loves solving problems, collaborating with engineering teams, and creating clarity in complex environments.

Qualifications

Execution Expertise:

  • Proven track record serving as the technical sales and support lead for early-stage B2B developer tools - you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a builder’s environment.

  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a highly technical customer-facing role.

  • Deep technical acumen - you can code, prototype, and build to customer spec, bridging the gap between engineering and business outcomes.

  • Confident creating and customizing technical demos from the ground up, tailored to the real-world needs of engineering teams.

  • Ability to become a power user of Flox - intimately familiar with our platform, the broader developer ecosystem, and how we integrate into modern SDLC workflows.

  • Experienced in building and managing strategic customer relationships – trusted by partners and stakeholders at every level.

  • Experience with Node, Python, Ruby, Go, and other major programming languages and their surrounding toolchains.

  • Adept at guiding prospects through technical evaluations and ensuring long-term success post-sale with hands-on enablement.

  • Comfortable producing technical content and presenting at meetups, customer sessions, and industry events - you enjoy telling a clear and compelling story.

  • Skilled at shaping and refining statements of work, solution architectures, and implementation plans that ensure successful deployments.

  • Capacity to learn Nix and the Nix ecosystem.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Startup experience

    • Prospects and customers consistently report high satisfaction across all touchpoints, including responsive support, collaborative problem-solving, and thoughtful engagement across formal and community-driven channels.

  • Proactive Feature Validation and Feedback

    • You actively test and showcase new Flox features as they’re developed, giving actionable feedback to the product team and equipping customers with real-world examples of how to use them.

  • Deep Customer Insight and Architecture Leadership

    • You’ve developed a strong understanding of real-world customer use cases, and translated that knowledge into clear reference architectures, implementation guidance, and well-scoped statements of work that accelerate adoption and success.
