Job summary

Qdrant is a remote-first open-source vector search engine powering AI applications like semantic search and RAG. We seek a Solutions Engineer with 2–4 years in technical sales, architecture, or consulting to translate requirements into pricing, drive POCs, and map migrations from Elastic/Solr/OpenSearch to Qdrant.

You’ll work with AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, and scripting in Python or Bash, communicating clearly with engineers and business stakeholders to position value and own outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of technical, customer-facing experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting.
• Background in data science, computer engineering, or a prior DevOps role.
• Scripting ability in Python or Bash, used to validate business value.
• Ability to calculate total cost of ownership (TCO) and estimate hardware requirements for distributed systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate architectural requirements into pricing models and contract terms with senior team members.
• Coordinate with Support, Product, and Engineering to unblock proofs of concept and keep technical sales moving in Jira and Salesforce.
• Identify deployment risks early, including latency bottlenecks and resource contention.
• Support architectural reviews and migration assessments from legacy search engines to Qdrant.
• Help design high-availability search clusters to meet SLAs and throughput needs.
• Build trust as a technical point of contact during evaluations to help customers realize value quickly.
