Job summary

Qdrant is seeking a Mid-Level Security Engineer to own hands-on security work within the Cloud Engineering team. You will identify risks, drive remediation, and enable development teams to adopt secure defaults across Rust, Go, and Python tooling.

You will triage vulnerability reports, participate in threat modeling, and help mature our ISMS and incident response processes while working in a remote-first, international team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in hands-on security engineering or vulnerability management.
• Ability to validate vulnerabilities across Rust, Go, and Python codebases.
• Experience triaging vulnerability reports or working with bug bounty programs.
• Familiarity with cloud and container security, especially AWS and Kubernetes.
• Clear written communication for external researchers and internal teams.
• Self-directed, able to manage a security queue independently.

Responsibilities

• Run our public bug bounty program: triage reports, reproduce findings, communicate with researchers, drive remediation.
• Investigate vulnerabilities at code level in Rust, Go, and Python tooling.
• Enable engineers to build secure systems: provide tooling, defaults, documentation.
• Partner with engineering to design, review, and verify fixes; set security requirements.
• Harden and maintain GitHub organization security posture: secret scanning, push protection, branch rules.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts across AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
• Track and report security metrics (SLAs, MTTR, patch latency) to Security Officer.
• Implement and maintain security tooling across development and cloud environments.
• Support security incident response: investigation, containment, remediation, and follow-up.
• Maintain auditable records of vulnerability and incident work in tracking systems.
• Build security automation and guardrails: CI/CD checks, policy-as-code, GitHub automation.
• Participate in threat modeling and architecture reviews for new services.
