Job summary

Sensience is seeking an Application Engineer to act as a key liaison between our technical offerings and customer needs, analyzing and solving complex problems. The role includes identifying growth opportunities and collaborating with the new business development team to expand market adjacencies.

Expected activities include on-site customer support, presenting materials, and developing strategic accounts. Travel 20% and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc.).
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in B2B sales engineering, technical consulting, or related roles preferred.
• Technical expertise in glass to metal hermetic sealing technology is a plus.
• Knowledge of data center, food and beverage, or industrial equipment is a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools to track interactions, manage leads, and drive sales processes preferred.
• A passion for technology and a drive to continuously learn and adapt to new trends.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, or equivalent productivity suites.
• Travel at least 20% for customer visits and trade shows.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support to customers and the outside sales and business development organization, including identifying solutions and preparing test reports.
• Evaluate current and emerging sensor technologies to meet customer needs.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and competitive advancements.
• Participate in customer visits, prepare materials, and develop strategic account relationships.
• Develop product conceptual designs and proposals for customer viability.
• Travel to customer locations to deliver on-site support and develop new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer needs with product roadmaps.
• Provide customer feedback to drive product enhancements and innovation strategies.
