Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a senior Solutions Architect to lead the design and governance of a modern, cloud-native data platform for CIBMTR. The role focuses on end-to-end reference architectures, lakehouse migration, and AI-enabled data products, working with vendors and internal IT leaders.

You will mentor data engineers and analytics staff, ensure regulatory compliance (PHI/HIPAA), and drive modernization with a strategic, enterprise-wide perspective.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data domain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end reference architecture for modernized data estate including lakehouse layers and data products.
• Design, configure, and optimize cloud environment with cost, security, and performance in mind.
• Lead migration from SQL data warehouse to lakehouse, including ELT/streaming pipelines and governance."
• Establish architectures and guardrails for agentic AI/ML, including RAG patterns, tool governance, monitoring, and explainability.
• Architect centralized metadata management, data cataloging, and semantic layer for AI-ready data products.
