Job summary

Ocient is seeking a Solution Architect for Communications Service Providers to drive technical wins from discovery to value proof and production planning. You will collaborate with Account Executives, Senior Solution Architects, and partners to qualify opportunities and demonstrate OcientAIQ value.

You will position CSP use cases like cybersecurity, billing, and network analytics, gaining deep expertise in on-prem capacity economics and cloud integrations, while mentoring by senior colleagues.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer-facing solutions architecture, sales engineering, field engineering, or technical consulting experience.

Responsibilities

• Support technical strategy for CSP opportunities, partnering with Account Executives and Senior Solution Architects to build pipeline and qualify opportunities.
• Participate in customer discovery workshops to gather use cases, data sources, data volumes, ingest rates, success criteria, performance requirements, concurrency, retention, time-to-queryability, and deployment modalities.
• Assist in determining customer needs to identify the best-fit OcientAIQ solution and design end-to-end architecture including cloud integration under senior guidance.
• Learn and apply hybrid architecture and economics concepts balancing on-prem capacity with cloud consumption for downstream AI, reporting, and workloads.
• Support technical partner engagements on joint opportunities, documenting integration points and joint architectures.
• Create specification documents with senior review for requirements, risks, and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with Delivery and Data Engineering on schema, testing, and pilot execution.
• Help build demonstrations, reference architectures, and partner collateral with Account Executives.
• Surface field feedback to Product Management and Engineering.

Job Title: Solution Architect, Communications Service Providers

Location: Remote (US Only)

Up to 25-35% travel to customer sites, partner workshops and Ocient offices as needed

Estimated salary range:

Base: $105,000 to $145,000

Expected OTE: $140,000 to $193,000

The salary offered for this position will be based on a candidate's experience and skill demonstrated during interviews and other evaluations

Position Overview

The Solution Architect supports the technical win for assigned CSP opportunities, working alongside Senior Solution Architects, Account Executives, Field CTOs, Delivery, Product, and strategic partners from discovery through proof of value and production planning. You work closely with Account Executives and senior team members to help build pipeline, qualify opportunities, and demonstrate technical value.

You will help position OcientAIQ solutions across CSP use cases including cybersecurity, autonomous networks, billing and revenue assurance, lawful disclosure, and network performance, with mentorship and guidance from Senior Solutions Architects This is an excellent opportunity to build deep expertise in on-prem capacity-based economics for heavy analytics work, alongside governed, business-ready data products published to the cloud platforms customers already own.

The role is measured by growth in technical proficiency, contributions to proof-of-value engagements, and support of production readiness and repeatable customer outcomes, with increasing ownership as skills develop.

Responsibilities

• Support technical strategy for assigned CSP opportunities, partnering with Account Executives and Senior Solution Architects to help build pipeline and qualify opportunities.
• Participate in and help facilitate customer discovery workshops to gather use cases, data sources, data volumes, ingest rates, success criteria, performance requirements, concurrency, retention, time-to-queryability, and deployment modalities.
• Assist in determining customer needs to determine the best-fit OcientAIQ solution and identify patterns that can become new repeatable offerings. Design end-to-end OcientAIQ and Telemetry as a Service solution, including integration with the customer's cloud data and AI environment, under the guidance of senior team members.
• Learn and help apply hybrid architecture and economics concepts, balancing on-prem capacity economics for heavy analytics with cloud consumption models for downstream AI, reporting, and application workloads.
• Support technical partner engagements on joint opportunities, helping document integration points and joint solution architectures.
• Contribute to customer specification documents covering requirements, success criteria, assumptions, risks, and architecture decisions, with review from senior Solutions Architects.
• Partner with Delivery, Data Engineering, and Customer Solutions on schema, workload testing, and pilot execution for pilot environments.
• Help build demonstrations, reference architectures, and partner co-selling collateral with Account Executives.
• Surface field feedback to Product Management and Engineering.

Ideal Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer-facing solutions architecture, sales engineering, field engineering, or technical consulting experience; exposure to CSP, telecommunications, network analytics, OSS/BSS, security analytics, or high-volume telemetry environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of OLAP, real-time analytics, or data warehousing concepts across cloud and on-prem.
• Some exposure to at least one major cloud data or AI ecosystem such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with high-volume ingest patterns, including Kafka, file-based ingest, object storage, streaming, batch, CDC, or similar data movement concepts.
• Basic familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, structured data products, or data governance concepts is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SQL and general ETL / ELT concepts; exposure to CSP data formats such as CDR, IPDR, IPFIX/NetFlow, ASN.1, syslog, OSS event streams, packet metadata, or KPI feeds is a plus.
• Interest in developing expertise with semantic layers, ontology, knowledge graphs, or graph analytics.
• Strong communication skills and eagerness to build technical credibility with customer architects and internal teams.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with a willingness to develop requirements documents, partner briefs, and customer-facing narratives.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and eagerness to learn across multiple concurrent opportunities.
• Willing to travel up to 25-35% of the time.
