Job summary

Badger Meter Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect to lead pre-sales technical design for water quality and smart metering systems. The role requires collaborating with account teams and distributors to present innovative technologies in the Central/Eastern US, with Charlotte, NC as a preferred location.

You will respond to RFPs, mentor teams, and stay ahead of industry trends to keep Badger Meter as the partner of choice for utilities and municipalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in water/wastewater or technical solution design.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

What You Will Contribute

As a Solution Architect, you’ll be on the front end of the sales process, partnering with customers and collaborating with our sales team to design solutions that meet their unique needs. This role is about building relationships, driving innovation, and working as part of a team to deliver exceptional value—not transactional selling. This role will cover the Central/Eastern US Territory (NC, SC, VA, WV, KY, TN), the preferred candidate will be in Charlotte NC, and must live in the territory served.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in the water/wastewater industry or technical solution design.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Ability to travel up to 60% or as needed for customer engagement and industry events.
