Job summary

Smiley Lifting Solutions is seeking a SolidWorks Design Engineer to design crane and lifting equipment, create 3D models and detailed drawings, and collaborate with in-house teams to deliver build-ready solutions in North America.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience with assemblies and fabrication. You will work with CNC, fabrication, service, and compliance teams in Arizona-based operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience with mechanical assemblies and/or fabricated steel structures; understanding CNC machining and fabrication processes.
• Solid work history and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Produce detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
• Design crane structures, components, lifting platforms, and counterweight trailers.
• Support SPYDERCRANE adaptation and North American compliance work.
• Prepare BOMs and supporting documentation.
• Revise designs based on engineering, compliance, and workshop feedback.
• Collaborate closely with CNC machining, fabrication, servicing, and compliance teams.
