Job summary

Tecnico is seeking a Solid-works Designer / Developer to create 3D assembly designs using SolidWorks modeling software.

Responsibilities include developing sheet metal parts and assemblies, reading 2D drawings, and maintaining safety in shop environments. Applicants should have SolidWorks experience and CAD knowledge, with comfort handling physical tasks and software tools like MS Office and Adobe Illustrator.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks and CAD proficiency evidenced by ~1 year+ SolidWorks usage.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings in .DXF/.DWG formats.
• Experience with graphic tools like Photoshop/Illustrator and MS Office.
• Project ownership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop sheet metal parts and assemblies using 2D drawings and existing parts or learn from photos/directions.
• Wear PPE in shop areas as required.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Handle environmental and physical work conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Solid-works Designer / Developer

Summary: Create 3D assembly designs using Solid-works modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Develop sheet metal parts and assemblies using methods such as 2D technical drawings, replicating existing parts, and creating items from photos, verbal directions, or hand sketches.
• Wear all required PPE when working in the shop areas.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Be able to withstand environmental factors such as outside weather conditions, high, precarious places, exposure to fumes and airborne particles, and very loud noise levels.
• Regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs.
• Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, and crawling.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills using Microsoft and graphic art applications such as Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using SolidWorks in the workplace or high proficiency in developing sheet metal parts with SolidWorks.
• Some CAD experience working with 2D drawings (.DXF and .DWG file types).
• Project management experience with demonstrated ownership of projects from concept through completion is a plus.
