Job summary

American Equipment Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer II with a strong background in crane design and SolidWorks expertise. The role focuses on designing custom crane systems and components, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety and manufacturing standards.

Qualified candidates have CSWP certification (CSWE preferred), 5+ years in mechanical design, and proficiency in PDM, GD&T, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks CSWP certification is required; CSWE is preferred.
• Experience with PDM and part creation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Legacy AutoCAD utilization.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiar with CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA specs.

Responsibilities

• Design crane systems, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create and adapt 3D models for drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management to meet customer needs and design requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Ensure designs meet safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare or assist with project drawings, calculations, and submittals.
• Create detailing and BOMs for manufacturing and procurement.
• Support field surveys and shop inspections as needed.
